4 weeks to go!
Hey everyone - I just realized that it's been awhile since I've updated on here - although there really hasn't been much to report on!
I am now at 36 weeks along! no more than 4 weeks to go before I get to meet my Little Man! I cannot wait! I *think* we have everything we need for him - at least at first. My ILs took me to BRU to get the last minute items we still needed - bottles, pacifiers, crib sheets, etc...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!
This past weekend, Jerred, Blane, Dorothy, Keyli, and I went to Moody Gardens in Galveston for a weekend get-away! it was so awesome and much needed! I was able to get a massage & pedicure, we took Keyli to the aquarium - where she loved the sharks! We saw an IMAX movie, although none of us were really impressed with it, in fact, I think all of us dozed off and on throughout the entire thing! We ate FABULOUSLY all weekend too - which is definately a plus! The weather was perfect, a little hot, but not too terrible. I have lots of pictures to upload, but unfortunately, the adapter for my memory card is lost (AGAIN!) so I have to get a new one.

I know I keep saying I'm "going to post pictures soon" and I PROMISE i'm going too! I have so many to show yall of Keyli and how much she has grown the past several months! It's on my agenda to get a new memory card adapter THIS WEEK, so hopefully that happens and I get pictures on here soon!
love to all!

Just checking in!
Nothing major to report - except that I'M FINALLY ON SUMMER BREAK!!!! That is so awesome! The last day of school was Thursday, June 3rd and I couldn't be happier for that bell to ring at noon to release all those screaming kids! Here is to 2 full months (well technically more for me if you count maternity leave) of no school, no waking up early, and not being on a set schedule!
On another note - I had another check up today for Baby Luke. I am officially 30 weeks along, so we are looking at about 10 weeks to go! I am so excited - but no where near ready or organized! We tried to have a 4D ultrasound done last week, but the little stinker wouldn't cooperate! He kept facing away from us, so we are gonna try again on Friday. I'm gonna be sure and eat/drink some sugar-filled somethings so he is good and awake (and moving around!) The dr said today that everything is looking perfect! I am measuring just right and my weight gain of 27 lbs (so far!) is in the healthy range!
We are about to start the potty-training process for Keyli. I refuse to have 2 kids in diapers, so we have about 10 weeks to get her in regular panties using the potty like a big girl! I really think she will do good with training. She has been using the potty all day at daycare, but refuses when she gets home. I'm about to get tough about it though and just put her in panties and let nature take it's course (pun intended!) Please pray for my sanity in that department! I'm gonna need it!
Guess that's about all that's going on in the Scroggins Household! More to come later!

Nothing new...
Just checking in! Not much happening around the Scroggins' household! Jerred is off playing softball (surprise, surprise) and Keyli and I are hanging out at home doing chores (surprise, surprise!).
On a positive note, I only have 3 weeks of school left! This is why I LOVE working in the school districts - a little thing I love to call SUMMER VACATION! I can't wait! Not that we are doing anything big and exciting at first - it's just nice to know I don't HAVE to be up and dressed and leaving the house by 7am! Although, my days will consist of getting ready for my precious Luke to make his arrival! 14 weeks and counting! :)
Speaking of which - I had another dr appt with an U/S last monday. Everything checked out great and my little man is currently weighing in at 1 lb. 14 oz!
Well, guess that's about it...like I said - it's been quiet around here! Just the way I like it! I'll check back in soon! Love to all!

It's finally Friday!
I've been saying that alot here lately! It seems like every monday, my Facebook Status reads something to the affect of: "well, lets get this week started so it will end faster!"...Followed 5 days later by: "Yea! It's Friday, time to start my weekend!"
My work days seem to drag - being a teacher in the schools, I feel much like my students do around this time of year. The countdown to summer began the Monday following Spring Break, and being stuck indoors on beautiful, warm, sunny days is just plain wrong! But only 19 days to go, then we get a nice long break!
However, I'm usually not THIS mentally and physically ready for summer though. I attribute my eagerness to being 6 months pregnant and knowing that my sweet baby boy is making his grand entrance at the end of the summer! I still have so much to do to get ready for him! I plan to hit the ground running as soon as that last day of school comes and goes! I think the "nesting" stage of pregnancy is starting to sink in, but I'm trying to hold off until school is over. But it's driving me crazy that his room is not ready, I don't have alot of stuff for him yet, and Keyli isn't potty trained yet - which is my MAIN concern and priority before August gets here. I only want 1 child in diapers! Wish me luck on that one, huh? :)
anyway - I've got 3 weeks to go - I can do it!

Disney On Ice
My mom and I took Keyli to Disney on Ice this afternoon. It was held at Reliant Stadium and Keyli had a blast! It had all of her favorite characters and she was mesmerized! She did not want to leave once the show was over! Now that I have uploaded all the pictures to our computer, all she wants to do is look at them over and over again - and tell me exactly who each person is! She came home with a Mickey Mouse blanket and Minnie Mouse T-shirt (courtesy of Nana), and a new cup, coloring book, and program (from mommy). Here are a few pics from the show

It's Official!!

I am 21 1/2 weeks along in my pregnancy! I can't believe it's gone by so fast! I had another dr. appt this afternoon, along with an ultrasound and guess what!?! We are having a boy!!! We are so excited! I get to be the football and baseball mom! :) Keyli told her daddy that she has a baby brudder!
Unfortunately, he could not be at the ultrasound due to sad circumstances. His grandmother passed away over the weekend and her funeral was this morning. So Keyli and I left after the funeral and drove to Kingwood to the dr, and he stayed behind to be with his mom.
well, guess that's all the news for now. Now comes the fun part of deciding on a middle name, getting ideas for his bedding, and buying little boy clothes! Yippee! Have I ment
ioned that we are really excited!?!

The end of Spring Break
Well, the much anticipated SPRING BREAK has come and gone...it was a great week though! Jerred worked all week (except 1/2 a day on Thursday) so Keyli and I just hung out at home. Not that any of you particularly care, I'm gonna go ahead and give you a rundown of our week!
Monday:
I had a dr. appt for the little bean growing in my tummy. Mom and Keyli went with me, so we went to lunch at Luby's first and exchanged some clothes at Gymboree...then it was on to the dr. Nothing major happened at this appt. I got to hear the heartbeat - it was strong at 150 beats/min. They did some bloodwork on me to do the down's syndrome screening - hoping and praying it all turns out good. I also set up my next ultrasound for April 12th! So excited for that one - it's the GENDER u/s! We are thinking BOY! I'll keep ya posted! ;) After the dr, we made a trip to Target. Never a good thing for the bank account! haha!
Tuesday and Wednesday were cleaning days. We are switching some rooms around in our house (moving bedrooms upstairs and bringing the game room and playroom downstairs). Both days were devoted to cleaning out boxes that were still in the spare room from when we moved! Bad, I know! I also did a TON of laundry that I've been putting off. We did get our bed and TV moved upstairs, but that's it so far on the heavy furniture moving. More to come when Jerred's dad can come help!
Thursday, Jerred came home at noon and we took Keyli to the zoo...BAD IDEA!!! She had a blast looking at what animals we COULD see, but it was so crowded with rude and inconsiderate people, that we were just ready to go home. Remind me to NEVER AGAIN go to the zoo during spring break! haha! Her favorite animals were the "efalants, mon-tees, and gaffs" (elephants, monkeys, and giraffes!). She kept pulling our hands to go see "more aminals!". Got some cute pictures that I will try and post later (after I find my adapter for the computer!)
Friday Jerred had class at work, so Keyli and I had lunch with mom. We discovered a new hamburger place that is WONDERFUL! It was about a 25 min drive but SO WORTH IT! The rest of the afternoon was spent just hanging around the house.
The weekend came and went very quickly. Nothing exciting - just spending time with my 2 favorite people! We watched movies, played games, and listened to Keyli sing us many of her songs! This was a perfect way to spend my spring break! It was much needed, and now I am ready to go and conquer the rest of this school year!

Sick, AGAIN!
So Keyli is sick again! She started running a high fever (104.6 degrees when daycare called!) on Thursday and it just keeps continuing. According to the dr, she has some sort of bacteria floating around, causing an infection somewhere - it's just not detectable...her ears are clear, her chest is clear, they even ran a urine test to see if it is a UTI, but that was clear. She is starting to get a little congested, nothing horrible, so maybe it's just another sinus infection - who knows! She is feeling better, but is still running fever. Yesterday afternoon, it got to 105.5! Believe me, this momma was panicking! But i took her over to Nana's house and she took some medicine and drank some juice, and it came back down...Nana can always make her feel better! Thank heavens for that, because I was ready to load her up and head to the hospital!
so far today, she has just been lazy - laying around watching mickey mouse. As long as she will take her medicine, her fever stays away, but as soon as it wears off, it comes right back up. Anyway - so that's the latest going on at the Scroggins' household. I wish I was outside right now - it's absolutely GORGEOUS outside! Jerred is playing softball and I hate that i'm missing it! More later!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful day spent with friends and family, celebrating the love that you have for each other!
Jerred got me a new set of pajamas! I love lounging in a soft, comfortble pair of PJs! He also cooked dinner for us and some friends tonight - steak, chicken, & shrimp! It was YUM-O!
I got him a pair of tickets to the 2010 College Classic Baseball Tournament at Minute Maid Park...It's a 6-team tournament between University of TX, Rice, Univ of Houston, Missouri, TCU, & Texas Tech! I really hope he has fun!
Then Keyli got the biggest gift - a new puppy! We have been talking about getting her a small "lap dog" because she so badly wants to hold Kasey - our 90lb choc lab! So a lady I knew had some chi-weenie (cross between a chihuahua and a weenie dog) puppies and she gave one to me to give to Keyli! He is super cute and only supposed to get to about 7 lbs fully grown! She LOVES being able to hold him in her lap and carry him around! Although, I have to watch her because I've caught her trying to pick him up by the neck! Anyway, Jerred picked out 2 names - 1 I liked and 1 he liked and told them to Keyli - it was a choice between Taco (Jerred's choice) and Peanut (my choice) and Keyli promptly responded with "Peanut"! So, meet the newest addition to our family - Peanut, the blond-haired chi-weenie puppy!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

SICK....AGAIN!!!!
Well, Keyli has ANOTHER sinus infection! I feel like we just got over the last round of antibiotics, only to start a new round! I guess that's the joys of daycare - everyone passes each other's germs around. While we were at the doctor, there was a little girl there that is in Keyli's class that had the same symptoms - fever, nasty cough, and congestion.
Oh well I guess...what can we do? It doesn't seem to really slow her down though - as long as she has tylenol in her, she is good to go. I tried getting her to lay down a little bit ago, but knew that was a lost cause considering she slept the whole way home from Kingwood (where her dr is). So, what does a mom do to get a little peace to get some stuff done?????
Give her a cupcake! HAHA! She has been asking me all morning and afternoon for a cupcake, so I finally gave in and let her have one! Her version of the cupcake, though, is just to eat the frosting off the top and throw the cake part away. I'm just the opposite! I'd rather eat the cake and knock the frosting off! What a great pair we make!

Murder Mystery Cruise!
We just got home from Kemah where Jerred, Keyli, Dorothy, and I attended a Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise! It was so much fun!! We ate a buffet dinner on board of this pretty good size yacht that toured for 2 hours around Galveston Bay. After the dinner part was over, we started in on this skit that was a hilarious murder mystery. One guy was an actual actor, the rest of the people in the skit were people out of the audience - me included! My name was Oprah Tunist and I was an insurace salesperson!
I highly recommend this adventure! The food was incredible, the skit was hilarious, and the boat ride itself was great! Keyli wasn't feeling all that great, so she was pretty clingy to me the whole night, but over all she was really good. She thought it was pretty cool that we were going out over the water. She loved waving to everyone standing out on the Kemah Boardwalk! It was pretty funny at the end though...the waitress was trying to clear all of our dishes away, and even though she was through eating, she WOULD NOT let her clear the dessert plate...it had to stay "right dere, mommy".

Kasey
Well yesterday and last night was interesting - and kinda scary. I came home from a baby shower yesterday afternoon to find our choc lab, Kasey, was unable to stand up and walk. Her back left leg would not function at all for her. I was home by myself because Jerred was at a softball tournament and there was absolutely NOTHING i could do for her. It was so pitiful hearing her whine and cry because she was obviously scared.
Well, I ended up just putting some water beside her and went up to the tournament. When we had gotten home later in the evening, Kasey had managed to get from my bedroom (where I had found her) to the dining room. She was still having trouble, but could get to a sitting position. I tried calling her vet and the recording at his office gave us a number to an emergency clinic in humble.
So at 10:00pm, we (well, Jerred) loaded her up into my car, took Keyli over to my moms, and drove to humble. They had to bring a rolling cart out to the car because we couldn't carry her in (100 lb dog we are talking about!) and they started examining her. Over all, it turns out she has a disc in her back that somehow got injured and it was putting pressure on a nerve that goes down into her leg. The vet gave her a shot of muscle relaxer, and sent us home with 3 prescriptions. By the time we left the vet, she was up and walking - rather stiffly, but at least walking.
She slept through the night without so much of a peep, and so far this morning has been doing pretty good. I am so thankful it was nothing more than what it is. All the "what-ifs" were going through my head. Keyli was so cute with her before we left. She kept petting her head telling her, "it ok kasey, get up...get up kasey"...
Anyway - things we do for a dog - but I couldn't imagine NOT doing that! She is part of our family!

I'm on board...for now!
Well, I'm gonna try it! Blogging, that is...we'll see how often I keep up with it! haha
I have several friends that I keep track of by reading their blogs. Even if it's been MONTHS or YEARS since I have actually talked to them, I know everything going on in their lives thanks to a wonderful creation known as internet blogging!
So here goes: a little background information:
Jerred and I have been married 4 years (dec. 10th!). We have a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Keyli and we have 1 on the way! Our due date is august 19th (yes, the HOTTEST time of the year!) and we are thinking boy this time! Keyli will tell you that there is a "baby in mommy's tummy!" "it's MY baby" and "my baby brudder". She keeps wanting to lift my shirt to "see" the baby! it's too cute! I just hope she stays this excited once the baby actually gets here! :)
Anyway - I currently work for Hardin ISD as a speech therapist. This is my 5th school year there and even though it's patience testing and nerve racking at times, I really do like my job. I mean, come on - I get 3 months off in the summer, 2 weeks at christmas, and 1 week in the spring! ALL PAID! I can't argue with that! haha! I enjoy scrapbooking (on the rare opportunity that I have a quiet moment that I can actually do it!), playing with Keyli, and watching my husband play softball. I live a busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Jerred is working for Exxon Mobil. He started there last April and absolutely LOVES it there! He works in the Machine Shop and works on various stuff if it breaks down...yes, that is the extint of knowing EXACTLY what my husband does! I'm just impressed I know that much! He is also a member of a men's tournament team for slow-pitch softball. They play about 2 tournaments a month here and there around South East Texas. Last year they were National Champions for ASA in their division! We were so proud of them! He finally got his championship ring last week! It's huge and really pretty! We'll see how well they do this year since they moved up to a higher division!
well, that's the Scroggins Family in a nutshell - with the exception of including our dog Kasey! She is a 5 year old chocolate lab and is the best dog ever! She is wonderful with Keyli and they love to play together!
Check back later, maybe I'll have added some more posts!
